November Fish Harvesting

We harvest our fish about twice a year.

To remove the stronger taste that the fish food can give to the fish, we stop feeding them about two days before harvest.

Then on the day of harvest we sex, weigh and measure for our records. I like to put mine in to an ice bath, take them home, cut and clean. These ones would make a nice filipino escabeche.

We harvest every week at the Natural Farm, this means we have to plant seeds every week, tend the bed just harvested, and plant our seedlings every week.

Life in the time of COVID.

We have a really great WorkDuty group this quarter. Students from a couple of different DTSs spending 2 hours each day with us, and already it is amazing to see the improvements.

Life we often say, Hawaii is a great place to be with a 12 month growing season, which also means local grasses and plants (a nice name for weeds) also grow 12 months of the year!
